October Project Updates

Celebrations Galore!

Horst Construction celebrates several big project milestones!

The team here at Horst Construction has been keeping busy, and it shows in the many great project milestones we have been able to celebrate recently! Here is a quick look at what we have been up to lately.

Great Beginnings…

We recently celebrated the official groundbreaking of the Vantage Point Retirement Living’s Meadowcrest at Middletown community. This Delaware senior living facility is scheduled to open in 2021, and is the first community of its kind in the Middletown area. Horst is very excited to partner with Vantage Point and Kimmel-Bogrette Architecture to bring their vision to reality. The community will smash the cookie cutter senior living approach in favor of a family-oriented, values-based facility that features 132 units ranging from Assisted Living to Independent Living and even Memory Care.

Big Moments During Project Progression…

One of the things Horst really enjoys doing is celebrating project milestones with our clients! To highlight just a few big moments in recent weeks:

We have been blessed to partner with Fellowship Church in Dallas, PA on their Legacy of Worship project and were happy to celebrate with them in September as we completed the foundations for their expansion. The congregation took time during their service to gather outside at the foundation for prayer and worship as they commemorated the occasion. This project will provide a new 496-seat sanctuary with stadium style seating, as well as renovations of restrooms and upgraded electrical / mechanical systems. The Architect for this project is Cornerstone Design Architects.

Also celebrating a milestone recently is New Covenant Christian School in Lebanon, PA. The project’s big steel delivery peaked the excitement of the school community and project team, which only grew as the structure of the building went up. As the new 20,000 sf student life center takes shape, it was a perfect time to pause and celebrate a project that has been years in the making! The “Build Today, Impact Tomorrow” campaign has been prayerfully and resourcefully moving toward this moment since 2014. Eldon R. Stoltzfus Architect is the designer on this project.

And Happy Endings!

It is always bittersweet when a project comes to a close, but we have thoroughly enjoyed working with these clients who celebrated in style as their project visions turned into reality.

Providence Place at the Collegeville Inn celebrated their Grand Opening on September 19th! This beautiful new senior living community features 113 apartments, a memory care wing, and resident amenities that include dining rooms, activities rooms, a salon, theater, pub, and other common areas for enjoyment.

On October 20, Ephrata Community Church officially celebrated the completion of their Vision 20/20 project with an Open House and Dedication Ceremony. This project added 81,300 sf to the church’s existing building, as well as performing 15,400 sf of renovations. The church is enjoying their new 1,600 seat auditorium including mezzanine seating, new lobby with indoor play area and cafe, a welcome center, 15 classrooms, 20 offices, and 2 large meeting rooms, in addition to the renovation of existing space that has created a multi-purpose room, new kitchen, gathering and game room, additional lobby, and cardio gym.

We have been very blessed to be part of such amazing projects and appreciate the relationships we continue to build with our clients and partners alike. The best part of our job here at Horst Construction is connecting with people and gaining an understanding of what they hope to accomplish through a building project. We know that the project is just a tool to help get our clients closer to their goals and are grateful to have the opportunity to bring their visions to reality.
